Problem
An experiment involving a new pain relief medication involves subjects being randomly assigned to one of two treatment groups. Subjects in one group will take a daily dose of the new medication, and subjects in the other group will take an existing common pain medication. All subjects will check in with a doctor every week to report their symptoms and any side-effects.
What does it mean for this experiment to be double-blind?
